TTo empower women in the state, the Odisha government on Monday released Subhadra Yojana guidelines for women, which is scheduled to start from September 17. An eighteen-page guideline has been prepared by the Odisha Women and Child Development Department on this subject.Subhadra Yojana guidelines include information on the objective, applicability and eligible parties of the scheme. Women who are between the age of 21 to 60 years are eligible to avail assistance under the scheme as per the requirements. About Subhadra Yojana Guidelines 2024

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi unveiled the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) of Odisha Subhadra Scheme in the state assembly. He said that this program will provide coverage to about one crore women of the state whose age is between 21 to 60 years. Subhadra Yojana, the main pro-women program of the Odisha government, now includes flexible inclusion and exclusion criteria to let beneficiaries access it. They will receive benefits whenever they meet the requirements during the next five years.

Subhadra Yojana Advantages

Under this initiative, beneficiaries will receive Rs 10,000 in two installments in their bank accounts every year. In honor of International Women’s Day (March 8) and Raksha Bandhan, the funds will be deposited into recipients’ bank accounts. In five years they will get Rs 50,000 under Subhadra Scheme.Beneficiaries will also get Subhadra Debit Card. To encourage digital transactions, an additional incentive of Rs 500 will be given to each of the 100 beneficiaries in each gram panchayat and urban local body who have the highest number of digital transactions.

Subhadra Yojana Budget

Odisha State Chief Minister Mohan Majhi has released the entire funds to complete the Subhadra Scheme. The Odisha state government has announced that the Subhadra Scheme will have a budget of Rs 55,825 crore and will operate from the 2024-2025 to 2028-2029 financial year.One crore women living in the state of Odisha will be selected as recipients of Subhadra Scheme. In five years, the Odisha state government will give a grant of Rs 50,000 to women citizens. The top 100 beneficiaries of each Gram Panchayat and Urban Local Body with the highest number of digital transactions will get an additional incentive of Rs 500.

Eligibility Criteria as per Subhadra Yojana Guidelines

As per Subhadra Yojana guidelines the eligibility criteria for the scheme are as follows:

  • Only female citizens are eligible
  • The candidates need to be the resident of Odisha
  • Under the program, all women between the ages of 21 and 60 will be covered.
  • The date of birth listed on the Aadhaar card will be considered for the account and approved in the application
  • Women from wealthy families, government employees and income tax payers will not be eligible under the Subhadra programme.
  • Women who earn at least Rs. from any other government program. 1,500 per month or Rs. 18,000 per year will not be eligible for this also.

Exclusion

Women may be excluded from the program for the following reasons:

  • Women who receive financial assistance of Rs 1,500 or more per month or Rs 18,000 or more annually from any other government program.
  • If the woman, or any member of her family, is an elected representative of the Panchayati Raj Body or ULB (other than ward members and councilors)
  • If the woman is a taxpayer, pensioner or employee of government undertakings and boards
  • Families earning more than Rs 2.5 lakh annually
  • Families with four-wheelers, light automobiles, and commercial vehicles
  • Families who own five acres or more of either irrigated or unirrigated land
  • Women suffering from sickle cell anemia and widows or other disabled women will not be subject to this exclusion criteria

Documents Needed as per Subhadra Yojana Guidelines

As per Subhadra Yojana guidelines the documents required for the scheme are as follows:

  • Aadhar Card: Women who want to apply for Subhadra Scheme benefits need to have an Aadhar card in their name.
  • Aadhaar – Mobile Number Linking: The applicant’s cellphone number needs to be connected to their Aadhaar card.
  • Bank Account: Applicants need to have a bank account that supports Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) and Aadhaar.
  • Aadhaar Registration or Correction: The applicant must register or update their Aadhaar information if they do not have an Aadhaar number or if there is an inconsistency in the information on their Aadhaar card.
  • Opening and Updating a Bank Account: The applicant must open a new bank account and ensure that it is Aadhaar-enabled, if they do not already have a DBT-enabled and Aadhaar-enabled account. They had to complete the e-KYC process and activate DBT for the bank account.

Women can apply for the benefits of this scheme by filling the free form at block offices, Mo Seva Kendras, Jan Seva Kendras and Anganwadi centres. A call center will also be set up for the program. Those who will make digital payments more often from their Subhadra Yojana debit card will get rewards. There will be 100 such people who will receive the award.
